On The Move (Again)

Just as we were getting comfortable in our roomy, oceanfront condo we got the bad news from our landlords. Our lease would not be renewed--they sold the place! There must be 150 houses and condominiums for sale along our stretch of A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and none of them are selling in this depressed market, except ours. What's that line of Humphrey Bogart's in the movie Casablanca..."Of all the gin joints in the world, she (Ingrid Bergman) walks into mine"..or something to that effect. We found out the place was available to purchase just a few months ago but the timing just isn't right for us. And so, I find myself moving for the third time in 18 months.
At least we found a great house nearby to rent. Neighborhood feel, beautiful hardwood floors, more space, a two car garage and a grassy yard with space for flowers and a small vegetable garden. Two blocks from the ocean and two blocks from the Intercoastal Waterway. Not a bad place to be; not bad at all. But we will miss our ocean view, hearing the waves and having the beach, quite literally, as our backyard. Just goes to show how spoiled and privileged we are, to lament going from a spectacular abode to one that is merely wonderful. We are so blessed.
Pass the tape, someone. Time to get packing.
